2/05 - Flyin' Francine

One day, Aunt Patty and cousin Jason had the brilliant idea to throw a surprise party for Grandmother.  And they talked me and Uncle Tod into coming for the party.  I got to bring a little princess kitty with me that for years has not had a name.  As we tucked the bleary kids into the minivan early Friday morning to take me to the train station, Lil' Guy piped up in a tiny voice.  "Her name is Francine."  OK.

Waiting for the train in the dark, desperately wanting coffee.

Here we are, waiting to board the plane (ours was to the left).

We had a quick layover in Phoenix, where they did not have anything vegetarian to eat that was not pizza.

We arrived in Austin, right on time!  Unfortunately, Uncle Tod got stuck in Atlanta for way more hours than necessary.

He finally arrived, and Jason took us to the party, where Grandmother was mighty surprised.  And happy to feed chips to Francine.

2/04 - Beaker in a beaker

Poor Beaker!  First, I put him in a beaker full of spiders!
(Yes, I have one at my desk.  Don't you?)

Then, a light fixture wanted to beam him up!

Then, since I was afraid the kids wouldn't lend me any toys if Beaker kept having a rotten time, I took him to the farmers' market.  See?  Mommy is nice.

Today was brought to you by the letter B.
Beaker
Beam
Broccoli

Bye!

2/03 - Giraffe takes off

Giraffe and I didn't get out much today, but we had fun playing with stuff at my desk.  Here's fun with lip balm:

Then Ashley lent us a small plane.  Wheee!!

Happy birthday to Grandmother!!

2/02 - Disco Circus Sheepie

Today's helper was Sheepie.  (Who I swear was named Katie the last time she came in.)  Here she is, all disco by the shiny wall in the cafeteria.

You know That Silly Doug was going to make her do circus tricks with the Big Blue Ball.  And he did.

2/01 - A weed by any other name

Today, I worked from home after a doctor's appointment.  The twins were "helping" Mama in the backyard, and brought handfuls of these in to me, little faces beaming.  Awwwww.

Happy birthday, David!!

1/28 - Blue skies for Elephant

Elephant and I were pleasantly surprised by blue skies and a bright yellow thing in the sky today.  Look!

You wouldn't believe the call I got from coworker Ann.  She asked if I had an iPatch.  No -- that was what I heard after all those headlines yesterday.  She wanted an EYE PATCH, like the pirates wear.  As it happened, I had a Deluxe Eye Patch that I was happy to lend to her poor injured AYE!  Er, eye.

We met up with Suzanne for lunch.  Happy belated birthday, my friend!

1/27 - Tiny Gorilla wants to visit the zoo

There's a new baby gorilla at the zoo, and Tiny Gorilla wants to see him.

At lunch, Rosemary (not pictured) and I had salads that were a million times bigger than Tiny Gorilla.

1/26 - Baby Giraffe speaks up

Baby Giraffe and I saw a very big puddle on the way to work.

Then, he posed with my drying umbrella.

We had a lot of meetings today.  Baby Giraffe stayed close to my headset so he could hear and chime in with his valuable opinions. (Although people were confused by his request for more baobab leaves.)

1/25 - Chickie and his peeps

Today, Lil' Gal volunteered a toy!  (Usually, Lil' Guy tries to send one of her toys to work and she vetoes.)  Chickie and I drove in.

Later, we did an art project involving a yellow circle.  I call it "Ring Around the Chickie."

Adelina had some chicks hanging around her cube, so we made friends with them.
