Every day, my 12th grade twins give me a toy to bring to work. I send home pictures of how the toy is "helping" me, and then save them to this blog. (OK, obviously, we are not really doing this anymore. Teenagers, amiright?) It definitely makes work more fun. For me -- I can't speak for the poor toy. Please do not use any of my images or writing without contacting me for permission.

3/26 - Miss Kitty and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Tuesday was a Tuesday in name only. Otherwise, it was beyond a Monday. I've blocked most events from memory, but forgetting to take my phone to work stands out, as does losing an earring and discovering I'd been walking around with one big earring like an 80's throwback. I also recall fleeing to Mr. Vending for a chocolate refuge, only to find him wearing a big "OUT OF ORDER" sign.

12/05 - Beagle sings in the rain
While I was grumbling about how people walk more slowly when carrying umbrellas, Beagle wanted to stop and sing a long song to the rain. People looked at us, but we didn’t care. If it’s OK to howl at the moon, why isn’t it OK to sing at the rain?
Beagles do not eat chocolate. Or Christmas cakes that look like logs covered with lumberjack elves. Beagles are smart like that when it comes to food. Beware the elf with a hacksaw...

11/23 - Mr. Waternoose calls for his Mommy
I worked from home on Friday, and Mr. Waternoose kept me company. Here, he models Lil' Gal's placesetting for me.
After I signed off, it was time for the twins' first slumber party. We had pizza and corn dogs picnic style in front of the fire, played Candyland, and had pie and cocoa.

Oh, no! Chipmunks in jail!
Then we read stories and got tucked into our sleeping bags. (Lil' Guy loves his, so no teasing, please.) It took a while, but slumber did come. And it stayed! Those kids stayed on the living room floor all night and slept in for a record time the next morning! Woooo!
In the morning, we had pumpkin pancakes and attempted potato sack races in our sleeping bags. Um, Lil' Gal, you're doing it wrong...

2/15 - In which Yoshi and Yellow Crayon become fashion accessories
Dinesh brought Jeanine a fancy dress back from India, and she thought Yoshi would make a nice hairpiece. He kept falling off, but a binder clip finally did the trick! (Yellow Crayon and I thought they were both silly.)
We went to Walgreen’s in search of discounted Valentine’s chocolates, but there was nothing left! Yoshi felt empty inside.
When I saw Yellow Yoshi, Yellow Crayon, and Yellow Cab together, I started humming a little Cold Play tune…
YELLOW
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah they were all yellow
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow
So then I took my turn
Oh what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
You know you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh what a thing to do
Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh what a thing to do
And it was all yellow
Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful
And you know
For you I'd bleed myself dry
For you I'd bleed myself dry
It's true
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do
