8/18 - Elephant hugs a tree

We had 14 meetings on this Monday and didn't get to see much of anything besides coworkers and conference rooms.  (Yes, 14. I do not recommend it.)  We did take a moment and appreciate nature, which was a small coffee tree at a coworker's desk.  Ahhh.  (Well, we couldn't figure out how to drink it.)

1/10 - Qui-Gon Jinn proves to be quite handy around the house

(Oh, this is still a kid-related blog.  You're in the right spot.  No worries.)

It turns out that Qui-Gon Jinn is very good at counting out the scoops of coffee.

But not so good at trying to fly a container of cherry tomatoes.  Go figure.

12/16 - Free breakfast makes Snoopy do a happy dance

Our building got a prize for being good for the environment and they wanted to wish us happy holidays, so there was free breakfast in the lobby.  We got nice pastries, coffee, and a shiny mug to put it in.  Yay!

11/27 - First Matey fuels up and finds friends

First Matey likes his lattes fancy!  Avast!

Then, First Matey found 'Mater and some friends.  Ho, ho, huh?

7/05 - Skellie needs a lift

Today was a day for drinking coffee and appreciating quiet.  Aside from the rattle of Skellie's bones, I got a bit of both accomplished.

3/27 - Miss Kitty and the Very Long Meeting

Miss Kitty found a strange bubble-popping princess on the way to our all-day offsite big meeting thing.  I was hoping we'd find coffee, which we did.  This offsite had excellent food because Jeanine is a rock star.  #thankyou

No wonder I'm sneezing like one of the seven dwarves.  Spring has sprung, yo.

3/22 - Blue Monster Truck plays chicken

Blue Monster Truck wanted to race with this yellow car, but it had to take The Man to work.

Then, he tried to play chicken with a basket of roosters, but that didn't go so well either.

At least, the Shoe Wiz was happy to get a ride.  (Although... why wouldn't he use his magic to make flying shoes?)

12/06 - Beagle goes bats

My building had a big holiday breakfast set up in the lobby today by the fountain with the silver balls.  There was even a harp player playing Christmas songs. We got a pastry and some coffee, but when we returned for more coffee and maybe a breakfast burrito, they had packed all up all the food.  Sorry, Beagle!

10/23 - Cloud Guy goes Gangnam Style

There’s a song with the line “clouds in my coffee.”  Cloud Guy preferred I put him *next* to the coffee, where he could nibble on my blueberry scone.

We were having a meeting in a coworker’s office and I saw he’d drawn the Gangnam Style guy on his whiteboard (work joke omitted from this photo).  Cloud Guy wanted to bust out a dance move, but he has no legs…   So he floated around instead.  Oppan Gangnam style!*

After work, we ran into Michael from my old job!  We thought it was funny to see a cloud under an umbrella.  Usually, it's the other way around.

6/19 - Shy Guy plays king of the coffee

We usually drink coffee from the office kitchen, but when there’s an early meeting, I grab one on the way in. Shy Guy felt so tall up there on this cup!

Whooo is his new friend? A nice owl we met on the way to haircut, that's who.

5/25 - Old Yeller finds things that are red

They were handing out coffee energy drinks this morning.  I considered drinking this one, but then thought I’d be smarter to save it for the weekend.

Old Yeller wanted to find things the same color as his kerchief.  He found an ICEE bear with a red sweater and some pretty red geraniums on the rooftop garden.  Good job, Old Yeller!

4/09 - It's not just bunnies that have pink eyes

I am halfway through the antibiotics, but still have full cold and ear infection symptoms.  Yay me!  Added bonus:  I may be getting pinkeye.

Here I am trying to call out of work and send in last week's timesheet.  Only I forgot the attachment.  And then sent the wrong one.  Oy.  I blame it on hamsters (guinea pigs?) wearing Easter Bunny ears and drinking all the coffee.

But those hamster/guinea pig/bunnies can be so very cute, especially when you swaddle them up like little pastel babies.  Awwww.

11/16 - Ping and the 99 bottles of dust on the wall

My new work building has a little museum in the front lobby, displaying artifacts from old San Francisco.  Here are some pretty bottles. And pretty Ping, of course!

There was a stealth lion peeking out from the cappuccino machine at our lunch place!  Eeek!

Silly Julie thinks that Ping is a lollipop! Don’t worry – she didn’t really.  She was just pretending.  See how Ping is still smiling?

9/29 - Wheel steers me in the right direction

Wheel found some “wheely” good stuff this morning:  coffee!!!!, granola bars for Lil' Gal, and moleskin padding for that poor ankle that rubs against the seam in my skate.

We met wheelie friends for Wheel at lunch break, but all those circles started to make me dizzy!!

My sad BART vs. derby practice story continues.  Today, just as I was leaving, a power outage in West Oakland caused major delays and caused me to miss the last practice before skill assessments this weekend.  I'm doomed.  (Also, there was a small earthquake in Oakland around that time, but I guess we can't blame BART for that.)

8/28 - More family festivities

Pogo sings a little coffee song:  "C is for coffee. That's good enough for me."  (Especially when the kids' table was up chatting and whatnot until 2am...)

And then, dear Reader, I flew home.  I took my sunburned shoulders back to the fog.  Stay tuned for the twins' first day at kindergarten.

7/14 - Scottie likes a drink now and then

We are all about keeping hydrated here at work.

Apparently, we are also all about keeping Mommy busy in her last 2 weeks at this job!  Between market conditions generating a lot of work for me, and answering all the emails responding to my announcement that I'm leaving, there was no time for toys!  :(

When I told the twins I had a new job, their faces fell.  "You mean you won't live with us anymore?"  Poor babies.  I told them it just meant I would go off to work like I always do, but I'll go to a new building and work with new people.  And the toys will get to see all kinds of new things!  That perked them up.  (Phew!)

3/16 - Fun with a Cheetah

Mama had a doctor's appointment, and we had to get out of the housecleaners' way.  So we went to "the fun place," where the twins ran amok, balanced on a cheetah, and I drank a very hot wretched coffee.  Then I logged in to work and nobody ever saw me again.

3/04 - Susan haz a hideout

Susan has built a fort out of my coffee holder.

David smiles slyly at Susan.  It looks like she and Tweet want to jump into his noodles! Stop, Susan, stop!

3/03 - Squawkie wants a coffee

Don't be silly!  Parrots don't drink coffee.  They prefer rum.  Or maybe that's just me.

Now Bob the Builder has parrot twins.  Poor Bob hears "Squawk!" in each ear.

1/27 - Flapasaurus says "Ta da!"
