5/20 - The Backyardigans' hat trick

Lil' Gal must really be sick -- she took a nap today for the first time in years.  (And she's got some funky rash that the doctor says is related to her cold.  Ick.)

While she slept, Lil' Guy staged this photo of his Backyardigans friends (and Widget!) in a sun hat, featuring current favorite Tasha (the yellow hippo).

Then, somehow, they got all "stacked up."  Whoopsie.  I hate it when that happens.

1/17 - Shared dreams

I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal."

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today.

Credit goes to, of course, Martin Luther King, Jr.  May his dreams continue to get sweeter and sweeter as we figure it out here on earth.

8/09 - Baby Giraffe and the Spacewriter 3000

Baby Giraffe had quite the day today!  He started out with a breakfast of healthy, leafy greens.  (I had a large coffee.)

At lunch, he found a number!

Then!  Lo and behold!  A shiny rocket!  The Raygun Gothic Rocket, to be precise.  (Which is important in space travel, of course.)

David wanted to travel to far-off lands, but he had a meeting.  :(

If you look closely on the map of the rocket's insides, you'll see "Spacewriter 3000!"  Did Widget build it??

7/15 - Widget and Wubzy watch me work

Not an especially exciting photo, but it reminds me what Lil' Guy said when I told him it wasn't a weekend. (I'm working from home today.)

"We could build a robot to do your work and then you can play toys with us!"

Wouldn't that be great?  Let's get Widget on it right away!
