11/29 - Gold Camaro counts it up

It must be getting close to the new year.  Here, Gold Camaro poses with a fancy number.  Do you know what it is?

At lunch time, Gold Camaro goes with me and Gio to eat big salads.

“You must cut up your salad,” says Gio.

“But I can’t.  I don’t have a knife,” I say.

“Then don’t do it,” says Gio.

Gold Camaro then decides he doesn’t want to be in the big salad club with us.  Can’t say I blame him!

10/30 - Shy Guy says, "Where's the beet?"

He did not want to try my beet salad, fearing the beet juice would stain his white mask.

These flying dolphins thought it was fun to leap over Shy Guy.  (He was shy and did not like all the attention!)

5/10 - Lady Green M&M and Charlotte like their greens

Charlotte and I caught up over Big Salads.  It was good to see her!  Lots of lunching ladies this week.  :)

Speaking of greens, Lady M&M appreciates nature. Look!  She found a butterfly!

5/09 - Girleen finds that derby girls are fun off the track, too

Girleen was part of Mama's birthday gifts.  Of course, the twins got her presents they (not so secretly) wanted themselves.

We had lunch with Maranda from my old team today and were all networking and stuff.  Derby girls working it OUT!

Girleen thought these workers dug a fine hole.  She asked me for a bone to bury in it, but there weren’t any at the salad bar. (And it would be hard to get back after they repave the street!)

3/29 - Littlest Rabbit and the field of greens

Littlest Rabbit wanted a nice bowl of salad for lunch.

And then she wanted to eat it in the countryside.  So we pretended we were going on a field trip – literally!

8/29 - First Day of Kindergarten (and a few Very Important Birthdays)

Pink Frog wanted to go to school too.  She liked the train ride in and thinks my desk is nice, but she wants to be a kindergarten kid like you guys. Hope you’re having fun today and learning new things!

Hey, those are not flies! (Pink Frog thinks the poppy seeds on my coleslaw are flies.)  Silly.  I would not pick flies at the salad bar!

A Very Happy Birthday to Grampy and to Linda!  We love you!

8/24 - Tigger/Stickie bears witness to the Great Greek Salad

Stickie (today also called Tigger) spied a cable car.  He really liked seeing it and the electric poles on the bus (moving too fast for me to take a picture of it).  Good luck at the doctor today!!

I do love me a big salad… How did it go at the doctor’s?

8/17 - Dora meets a family of giants!

Dora and her twin brother and sister found some giants on our way into work!  (They’re really just some statues.  The work is called “Agriculture” and is by Ralph Stackpole.)

Dora says, "Mira! Una ensalada muy grande!" This ensalada has lechuga (lettuce), maiz (corn), tomates (tomatoes), queso (blue cheese), and higos (figs).  Delicioso!

In other exciting news, the replacement Roo has arrived!  (History lesson:  Roo the First went missing.  Roo the Second was accidentally tossed over the fence and was Lost Forever in the brambles and ivy.)  This is Roo the Third.  May he stay around for a long time.  (And if not, at least we have a photo this time.)

7/12 - Snickle Fritz haz a snuggie

He thought Linda's knitting made a nice little nest!

Our favorite Greek Goddess Salad is back!  We forgot to say "no onions."  Still: Yum!!

 

5/11 - Jingle Bear bundles up for summer

I was just wishing for summer yesterday...  I guess I forgot we are in San Francisco and summer = cold.*  Jingle Bear and I both wore our scarves today.  Brrrr!

He found today's meeting a bit heavy...  Don't let the smiley face fool you -- those conference calls will lay you flat.

5/03 - Piglet and the Salad Tower of Power

Piglet looks so little next to Linda's and my Big Salads. Wouldn't Rabbit be proud if all of this came from his garden?  Or would he say "Leaf me alone!"  (He would if he were in our family.)

Piglet urges you to shake your tail feathers.  C'mon, everyone!  Let's do the turkey dance!

3/30 - Panda, Elephant and Anya walk into a meeting...

Panda and Elephant found Anya on the BART parking lot fence, and we brought her in to work with us. She says, "Spasiba!"  (That's how you say "thank you" in Russian.)

Lunch meeting + meeting = no sunshine.  At least we have a delicious cactus salad.  Ah, cactus salad*...  how I've missed you.

* Yes, cactus as in cactus.  I am a cactus-eater.  Y que?

3/11 - Bronto eats broccoli pronto

For breakfast, Bronto gobbled up some dismal trees.  Chomp!  Chomp!

 He likes salad dressing on his broccoli trees.  Chomp!

I am blessed that the worst parts of my day were a non-tsunami and 6 hours of meetings.  My heartfelt thoughts go out to those in Japan... 

2/28 - Caiman crunches on pugliese

It was a chilly 43 degrees on the way into work today. Made me long for a hot tub, and Caiman dreamed of Hawaii.

Dana made some delicious bread and brought it in to work to share. It makes the salad I got at the cafeteria into a real lunch!

Caiman has a new friend -- Pirate Bob the Builder is back at my desk!

2/14 - Red Froggie sees Mac and Cheese and Leaves

Red Froggie says "Happy Valentine's Day!"  We wish you all kinds of sweetness and love.

The dry mac and cheese from the cafe is OK, but leaves without dressing do not equal a salad in my book.

2/01 - Walden waves "hello!"

Hi!

Well, we were able to GET lunch.  However, the eating of it has been an iterative process, managing a bite here and there between meetings.  You guys are a little too young for math, but maybe the grownups can help: If I start eating a salad at 11:30am and finish at 3pm how many bites/hour did I get?

Extra credit:  If meetings x frustration + hungry = postal/Y, what is Y?  And where can I find some?

1/14 - Littlest Seahorse and The Salad That Never Came

Littlest Seahorse is tied up. Please hold.  We've had 4 solid hours of meetings, are off to grab lunch, and then head into 3.5 hours of more meetings.  If we can get a photo out later, we will.  People tell us it's a Friday, but we can't tell.

We had 10 minutes to grab lunch, and we were lucky to grab Linda to keep us company!  Except the lunch place took 20+ minutes to make Linda's salad.  Grrrr!  (Although it did allow us a 30 minute break from meetings!  Yay!)

12/30 - Muckie is a lucky ducky

I finally broke down and used an ice scraper today on my frosty windshield.  (I had long sworn that I would not own one in CA.)  Muckie was a good helper.

My new boss took us to lunch at a fancy restaurant today.  I had beet and goat cheese ravioli and a nice salad. Also a really yummy dessert that I gobbled up before Muckie could get a photo with it.  NOM NOM NOM!!

10/11 - Littlest Fish says "blurp"

Like a fish out of water, as they say.  Littlest Fish reminds us all to hydrate for life.

We saw this seal? sea lion? serpent? on a tile at the salad restaurant.  Littlest Fish was happy to find a friend!  *I* was happy to grab lunch at 1:30pm.  Turns out the best way to beat a heat wave is to be trapped inside for meetings all day!  How clever!

9/22 - Captain commands the HMS Salad

Poor Captain hasn't had much to do today while I've been in meetings, so he got a little antsy and tried to sail my salad away.

(Side commentary:  Slim pickins at the cafeteria salad bar today.  No wonder he's not getting anywhere.)
