6/27 - Carrot Head is playful

First, he jumped for joy with this boy.

Then, he played Duck Duck Goose with these safety cones.

6/03 - Dad Alien's new vice

This was on the back of a pick-up truck.  Pretty snazzy, eh?

The last time you twins saw Alan (or his husband Will), you were two years old!! It felt like it had been that long since he and I had lunch, so we decided to do something about it.

5/21 - Space Horse longs to run with the herd

Space Horse thought this baby bulldozer was a space ship, and wondered why it didn't just fly up and out of its barricage.

This horse friend was also tethered.  Poor Space Horse, always running solo.

4/24 - Bat Ring says, "Who are you calling a cream puff?"

This morning, we found helpful instructions on how to operate a cherry picker.  No keys, though.

We took Jeanine for lunch to thank her for being a rockstar admin, and the place had these yummy birds on display.

1/25 - Little Puppy: a self portrait

We saw lots of work by my work today.  Little Puppy wanted to take a turn taking pictures, so here’s what he found.

I told Little Puppy that you would want to see a picture of him, so here’s what he sends you.  He looks very handsome, doesn’t he?

12/06 - Beagle goes bats

My building had a big holiday breakfast set up in the lobby today by the fountain with the silver balls.  There was even a harp player playing Christmas songs. We got a pastry and some coffee, but when we returned for more coffee and maybe a breakfast burrito, they had packed all up all the food.  Sorry, Beagle!

This construction company has a sense of humor and an excellent logo.

They also have super cute cones with polka dots.  Who says you can’t be cute *and* safe?

10/16 - Tigress will comply

We saw this very serious warning on a big construction truck that hangs up signs.   It tells us not to play with wires or electricity.  Tigress said OK!

 Across the street, we saw all the big letters that the truck will be hanging up.  Hopefully they will not still be upside down and backwards once they are up!

10/05 - Inch the Inchworm finds a stripey friend

It was a ladder on a truck! (Yes, Inch looks a lot like Tigger’s tail.  He hears that all the time.  Inchworms can be stripey too!  Lil' Guy told me so.)  Lil' Guy was right!

We walked/inched around at lunchtime.  When we looked up, we saw redwoods and a beautiful California blue sky.

When we looked down, we saw a removable wall filled with construction project stuff.  I was hoping that store was going to be a restaurant, but the sign says it will be a 7-11.  Meh.

Cupcakes for my derby team's car wash/bake sale are ready.  Want one?

9/09 - Weekend fun: Fall Festival Edition

The bathroom renovation continued this weekend (and is finally finished!), but at least we got a good box to play in out of the deal.

We also got some new pajamas from eBay that seemed a lot like race car driver uniforms to us.

Then, we enjoyed running into friends at the Fall Festival.

And hanging out in a police car!  Book 'em, Danno.

9/07 - Blue Man Guy finds an alarmingly big mosquito

It looks like a robot mosquito, even!  Yikes!! (It was just a poster – don’t worry!)

Here, Blue Man Guy stopped to sniff these strange pom pom flowers.  He said they smelled like pom poms.  (Of course, his nose is under that mask, so he probably couldn’t really tell.)

Bathroom project update:  We went from complete demolition on Wednesday to this today.

And this is how it is tonight.  We have potty!!  And a structural, but not yet functional sink.  Everything should be done tomorrow and I will do the happiest happy bathroom dance you ever did see.

9/05 - Hold on, Pink Yoshi!

Doesn’t Pink Yoshi look sweet next to these little flowers?

Whoa!  Motorcycles don’t have seat belts, and this one is off like a rocket!  Hold on!!!!

After Pink Yoshi's hard day, she just wanted to putter around the house...  (help)

And then, on our way to derby practice, look what we saw!  A rainbow!

No, TWO rainbows!!  We are doubly lucky.

8/23 - Pink Yoshi and the green steam machine

I have no idea what this kind of construction vehicle is, but it seems to have something to do with water pipes and the water tanks that have been sitting around this week.

Pink Yoshi found another pink dragon in the city.  Pink Yoshi said, “My, what a long tongue and sharp teeth you have!”  And then slurped her long Yoshi tongue at it.  Dragons are strange.

5/09 - Girleen finds that derby girls are fun off the track, too

Girleen was part of Mama's birthday gifts.  Of course, the twins got her presents they (not so secretly) wanted themselves.

We had lunch with Maranda from my old team today and were all networking and stuff.  Derby girls working it OUT!

Girleen thought these workers dug a fine hole.  She asked me for a bone to bury in it, but there weren’t any at the salad bar. (And it would be hard to get back after they repave the street!)

4/12 - Wheel and the surprise birthday party

Wheel (yes, just the one today) and I saw this truck with a big spool on our way into work.  She asked, “Who are you calling a spool?!”

Elizabeth didn’t tell anyone it was her birthday – the surprise was on us!  We managed to round up some folks and take her to lunch anyway.  Here’s Wheel and the flaming flan.

Happy one-week anniversary to my ear infection.  NOT.

3/21 - TorTay the alien robot likes skyscrapers and construction

It was a nice sunny day in the city today.  I even took off my scarf!!

TorTay wanted to help drive the crane (?), but he didn’t have an Earth driver’s license.  Poor TorTay.

TorTay is a scofflaw... Or maybe he is not good at reading in English.

2/08 - Carrot thinks you are beautiful

Orange Carrot met Pink Flamingo, Yellow Cab and Yellow Crane on a colorful lunchtime walk.

10/25 - Bitty Boom and Little Lego study the speed of light and sound

Bitty Boom liked the sound of jackhammers tearing up the sidewalk, and chimed right in.  “Boom!  Crash!’’ Boom!”

Little Lego was interested in the worker changing the big light bulbs on the kiosk.  He started singing “You light up my life.”

Bitty Boom and Little Lego were excited to see a Halloween car on the street.  Their new friend Boo gave them a ride.  He was really nice!  (This is only a decoration!  It’s blown up with hot air.)

At the train station on the way home (thank you, BART, for more delays), I saw what appeared to be a class for guide dogs and their owners.  Here they are, learning how to cross the street.  Who knew they travel in packs?
