4/03 - Goldie and the clean team

With all the rain we’ve been having lately, it seems the timing for cleaning the building is a bit off, but it was still interesting to watch.

4/02 - Goldie says, "Let's eat!!"

We met my friend Rob for lunch and they did not want to wait for me to take my photo.  They were hungry!!

4/01 - Oh, no! I lost Goldie!!

I thought she was in my bag, but now I think I left her at one of my errands!  I am soooo sorry!

APRIL FOOL!!

Goldie’s fine.    She was with me all along.  :)

Poor Peggy is not fine, though.  She sprained her ankle and has to wear a boot that looks just like mine did.

3/31 - Goldie wants pets

Yes, she would like scratches behind the ears, but she also wants to take Nancy’s small Chinese dragons home as pets.  I told her dragons do not make good pets.  And Nancy is using them to guard her desk.

2/11 - Pinkie Pie calls a Heroes of the World meeting

Yes, of course Pinkie Pie is a hero! Not only because of her Pinkie Sense, but because she brings yummy treats to meetings!  That makes her a hero in my book.  :)

She was also very brave when we met this fierce fellow.  Pinkie Pie cooed at him and tamed him right away.

1/19 - PAW Patrol party

It happened again.  I'm not quite sure how, but those little twins of mine have grown one year older (and cuter!)  I now have eight year olds on my hands.  Oh my.

We decided on a PAW Patrol theme, a show we enjoy watching (and re-enacting), about action rescue dogs with excellent vehicles and gadgets.

We started the festivities with the traditional "please bring a healthy treat" request from the teacher.  I'm not sure that I'd call these healthy per se, but they were not sweet, delicious cupcakes.  No.  I sent "pupcakes" instead.

Next up, one "pawty," which Lil' Guy kept hearing as "potty."  (He was not amused.  He lobbied for a "ruff ruff" party, but I am too juvenile to pull that off appropriately.)  We used printables from Nick Jr. for the invites and to decorate the house.  Thanks to Mama for her balloon and streamer wrangling!

I got dog bowls from the dollar store and used them to serve meatballs, little smokies, Scooby Snacks (graham crackers), Whoppers, etc.

We stationed every dog stuffie we could find (there were lots!) around the house as decorations.  For the goodie bags and prizes, I got stickers, dog collar bracelets, paw print stampers, some little plastic dogs, and Scooby Doo sour candies.

We played a few very fun games.  Lil' Gal set up a Fetch station for the kids to play while everyone arrived.

Our first game was Pin the Badge on Marshall.

Then we played Doughnut on a String, where the kids got to eat like dogs, with no hands.

We played Dogcatcher, where the kids took turns being the dogcatcher.  When they tagged someone, that kid had to go to the doghouse (predesignated area) until another kid tagged them out.  If the dogcatcher caught all the "puppies," s/he won.  (I just gave the kids that wanted to be the dogcatcher two minutes to catch as many as they could, then switched to another dogcatcher.)

We finished up with everyone's favorite canine version of Hot Potato.

Then, it was time for cake!!  I tried a technique I found on Pinterest for making the PAW Patrol characters in frosting.  Aside from having to make 11 different colors of buttercream frosting (which all tasted delicious!), and forgetting to reverse the image, it went pretty well.  The kids loved it.

Happy birthday, my sweeties.  I hope your 8th year brings you all kinds of joy.  You are my joy.

7/03 - Fergus attempts work/life balance

First, Fergus balanced a good luck block from Lil' Guy on his head.

Then, he decided my work pen was a good stick for playing fetch.

And then!  Sheldon (yellow shell) came out of his molting lair, looking every bit the zombie hermit crab after two weeks underground.  He drank a bunch of water, chirped to Linda, and back under he went.  Bye, Sheldon!

7/02 - Fergus wants to play

Look!  He fetched me a stick to toss.

Since he was being such a good boy, I let him type up some meeting minutes. Thanks, Fergus!

5/10 - Dexter and the Pottymon

Dexter went looking for Pokémon with me today.  We found these driving into the BART parking lot – probably for tomorrow’s Rodeo Parade.  Pottymon!!  Gotta catch ‘em all!  Er...  No!!!

Here, Dexter found some Poké Balls in the city.  The dogs tried to tell us they were toys for them, but Dexter was not fooled.

4/29 - CowCow sets sail

Here’s what CowCow and I saw during our lunchtime wander:
A cute little doggie that tried to say “Mooo,” but it came out “Bawooo” instead.

3/21 - Max and Ferdinand learn about the six degrees of Star Wars

Look what our friends found for Lil' Guy!  A lovely diagram of how everyone in Star Wars is connected to each other.

Although it tends to raise more questions than it answers.  Like just what kind of relationship is "other" anyway?  And why so many significant battles?  Can't we all just get along?  What is wrong with this family? Sheesh.

3/20 - Max and Ferdinand wish you a happy spring (and safe driving)

The nectarine tree is starting to bloom.  These blossoms don't smell as lovely as the plum tree's, but they sure are pretty!  If only the squirrels would leave us some nectarines...

Looks like Mr. Frumble is having trouble getting out of the BART parking lot again.  #ouch

3/19 - Max and Ferdinand espy some generosity

Max the Cyclops thought he'd found a friend in this surveying scope (?), but was happy to use it to find a generous It across the street.

The baby pepper plants are starting to peek out of the pot!

3/18 - Max and Ferdinand's field trip

Max the Cyclops and Ferdinand the dog came all the way to work with me, but then I just sat at my desk and worked all day.  I didn't even take their picture.  They were not at all happy with me.  So I took them to derby practice and now everything is fine.

3/01 - Puppy Love says, "I wuf you!"

We had lunch with Divya today.  Puppy liked her furry jacket.  I wished I’d worn my fuzzy coat – it was foggy and cold in the city!
