3/30 - Carrot's magnetic personality

Carrot and I had a LONG train ride this morning.  For me, commute delays = more nap.  :)

During a conference call, Theodore the Tugboat and Carrot had fun hanging out.

You can "draw" a moustache or beard on Pirate Pete with a magnetic pencil -- or Carrot!  Carrot ended up looking like an earring.

3/29 - Roley smooths it out

(Took a personal day on Friday.  Sorry if I left you in the lurch.)

Roley and I got to take a field trip this morning!  On a bus!!

Then it was back to work and a bunch of meetings.  Roley made himself useful by smoothing out all the Thinking Putty ("muddy").

Later, we learned all about steampunk, and he made friends with this steam-powered tractor.  Or rather, gazed at it longingly like I do.

3/25 - Howler Monkey speaks up

Howler Monkey did not want to go to meetings.  He tried to hide in a tree.

Later, he was hanging out with That Silly Doug.

Left ear, taken or not taken?

Howler Monkey made some friends at Mommy's hair appointment.  (Hi, Ally!)

3/24 - Zebra stripes are everywhere

Zebra was so happy I didn't forget him this morning!  We saw a striped trash can on the way into work, with up and down stripes.

Adelina was wearing her zebra dress today!  What luck!

At the food court, we found stripey trees, if you please!

3/23 - My mini robot helper

Another work from home day, so I could attend a mid-day doctor's appointment.  I picked this strange robot to be my WFH helper.  Lil' Gal tells me his name is TorTay (Torte?).

3/22 - Go, Cheese Car, go!

Cheese Car thought the escalator handrail looked like a racetrack.  Vroomity vroom!

At lunch, he thought the checkered floor at the food court looked like a racing flag.

When Ernie stopped by, Cheese Car was thinking such fast thoughts, he was a blur in the photo.  Vroom!!

3/19 - Mommy forgot the toy!

Somehow, Zebra did not make it into Mommy's pocket this morning!  Mommy is sorry.

[Not for kids:  Mommy also almost got hit by 2 cars on the way into work and then decided to have cookies for breakfast.]

Mommy saw a nice palm tree at lunch.  The weather was so nice, she did not want to go back to work.  Or stop talking about herself in the third person like a weird reality show person.

3/18 - Baby Giraffe and the space alien

Baby Giraffe found some tender leaves to eat for breakfast at the flower stand by the BAR station.  NOM!

At lunch, we saw a Space Alien! on the side of a van.  (Mama told the kids he was holding a tool of some kind.)

3/17 - Frosty Car finds danger

I got to bring in the Frosty Car because he had green for St. Patrick's Day.  (Close enough.)

We saw a zillion orange signs and caution tape galore at the BART station by my work and wondered what the heck was going on.  Seems they're installing new turnstiles.  Who knew it was so dangerous?  Or that it required a sheltering tent?

We had a nice team lunch with That Silly Doug, Katelyn, and Dana.  Frosty Car admired the quality salt and pepper shakers.  I admired the mac and cheese and brussel sprouts.

3/16 - Jimmie and the sickly

Jimmie was very good at the doctor's -- stood right where the sign told him to.  (He did time the wait with his stopwatch.)

At work, there was much concern about the zebra plant that swooned in my absence.  And my coworkers decorated my cube/pirates with masks.  They are so silly!

3/15 - Vroom!

No work for me today!  I'm holding down the fort while Mama makes her way back from the rainy east coast.  My weekend of single parenting went pretty well, considering I still have bronchial issues and we had a time change.

Here are Lil' Gal and Lil' Guy pretending they're "biker guys."  Yes, those are motorcycles there.  Vroom!

3/12 - A lovely present of green chips

Lil' Gal wrapped these up in a (clean) tissue for me as a "present" as I worked from home today.  Awww.

BTW, best quote ever yesterday from Lil' Guy, as he peeked around the study door:  "Mama said don't bother you, so I just give a little peek."

3/11 - Can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man

Today was my first day back at work, albeit at home.  The twins were too busy going to preschool and running around to give me a toy, so I got artsy with the fruit bowl after they went to bed.

Hey!  I'm sick.  Don't read into this.

3/10 - Princess Naveen and the big shot

Today was the twins' 4-year check up visit.  They are doing well overall.  Lil' Gal' is still 5 pounds heavier than Lil'Guy and is now .25 inches taller.  She's in the 75th percentile height/weight, and he's in 50th percentile.  As always, she is a dumpling and he is a string bean.  Both healthy, thank everyone.

The doc encouraged us to get chickenpox shots today, as the 5th year visit is "huge."  So we did.  We made Lil' Guy go first, since he is the king of stoic, and Lil' Gal screams like a banshee at the very  mention of shots.

It all got better when stickers were produced for bravery.  They each got three.  Lil' Gal gave me her princess sticker because "I love you so much."

Now who's crying?  (I wore it all day, even to the store.)

3/09 - Catty meets Honey

Still sick.  Turns out it's not the flu, but rather a bronchial virus.  Not that this news makes those of us with "by now my lungs were aching for air" syndrome feel any better or makes Lil' Guy any less energetic, but there you have it.

Here is Catty with our new friends Teapot and Honey.

3/08 - Baby Hippo sings the flu

Sorry.  No toys at work today.  The family has been felled by the flu.  (Except for Lil' Guy, who is running around the house like a pent-up banshee, not understanding why the rest of us lie on couches sniffling and moaning.)

Baby Hippo yelled at the tissues on my behalf.  I don't have enough airways to try this stunt at home.

Side note:  We had HAIL today!  We parental units were fascinated, but the twins just wanted us to un-pause the Backyardigans episode (Vikings!) they were watching.  Meteorology?  Meh.

3/05 - Muck cleans up

Muck likes to help!  He cleans up some spilled paper clips at Mommy's desk.

He tries to clear up the "muddy" (thinking putty) too.

David found a cute heart near his work building.  Who says a truck can't be tender?

Thursday, March 4, 2010

3/04 - Tacky tries to tackle a big fish

Tacky the Penguin (yes, named after that one) said, "WOW!" when he saw these fish, but they were too big for him to eat.

That Silly Doug had some little turtles in his office.

Then he tried to fly Tacky.  Whee!!

Not one to give up, Tacky tried to eat the fish stapler, but it tasted like staples.

3/03 - Mooooshrooms

Poor Moosie started out the day being attacked by Mommy's mean tennis ball.

At least he got to have lunch and play peek-a-moose with David.

And we spotted mushrooms right there in the city!  I guess that's proof we've had a lot of rain lately.

Ashley came by to say hi.  And then Mommy and Moosie went home.

3/02 - The wonderful thing about Tiggers

Tigger liked the windshield wipers in Mommy's car.  He kept wanting to bounce around like them!  (He had to buckle in.)

Then, he hung from my umbrella as we walked in to work!  Silly Tigger!!
I hope he doesn't bounce my coffee over!

Later, Tigger hung out around my desk...

And we went for FroYo with Katelyn and Ashley.  Yum!!

3/01 - Dino II and all things red

Dino II found a parking meter that was red with yellow spots, just like him.

We also found some pretty red flowers on a foggy day.

Best news of the day -- girl scout cookies!!!  (Poor Mommy had to keep the peanut butter sammiches at work due to Lil' Guy's peanut allergy.  Boo hoo.)
