In which I blame The Sick, The Busy and the just plain old Tired

Would you believe I'm still taking pictures of the twins' toys every day?  I am!  Some of them are even quite clever.  And then, at the end of the day, I just don't get around to posting them.  I will...

In the meantime, please do follow/like me on these other sites where I'm slightly more alive:

8/27 - Moustacheless Mario jumps for joy at the fajita bar

Someone had a lunch meeting today, and instead of it being a meeting without lunch, it ended up being a lunch without a meeting.  How awesome is that?

"What's on the agenda today?"  "Eating free food.  Your action item is this cookie."  NOM. Check that off the list.

8/18 - Elephant hugs a tree

We had 14 meetings on this Monday and didn't get to see much of anything besides coworkers and conference rooms.  (Yes, 14. I do not recommend it.)  We did take a moment and appreciate nature, which was a small coffee tree at a coworker's desk.  Ahhh.  (Well, we couldn't figure out how to drink it.)

8/19 - Elephant makes a very tall friend

Our company had a fun summer event today, with jumpy houses and games and wandering performers.
The stilt lady thought Elephant was very cute.  He thought she was a fancy giraffe.

8/20 - Elephant gets a little fruity

So the thing with the free cookies?  Nancy is full service.  She brought me a cookie *and* an apple.  Brought the latter home for the kids because I am also good at sharing.  Fruit, anyway.

8/21 - Elephant wants the cookie, not the cold

My job seems to have a lot of cookies. So much so, that on the days where there are no free cookies, I get a little pouty.  (Do NOT have a problem. Could quit cookies whenever I wanted to. Just not today.)

Happily, new girl Heather has the same problem with fondness for cookies and is good at sharing.  We like her a lot.

8/22 - Ice Bird is broke, yo

So don't ask him for anything.  (File under: odd things one finds in a conference room...)

8/25 - Moustacheless Mario is so fancy

I went to get my hair did, and Mario made a fancy friend.
I'm so fancy
You already know
I'm in the fast lane
From L.A. to Mario
I'm so fancy
Can't you taste this gold?
Remember my name
'Bout to blow

8/26 - Back to School!

I guess I had a longer hiatus than intended.  I did take pictures of the twins' toys the whole time!  Someday I'll post them, I swear!

So, fast forward to today...  My wee twins have become big strong third graders!  How about that?
And while Lil' Guy (L) and Lil' Gal (R) were off reuniting with friends and learning important things, Moustacheless Mario and I had a healthy breakfast at work.  Nom nom nectarines.

4/04 - Happy smiles through hunger and rain

Happy thinks fighting childhood hunger is a good thing.
We had a very dramatic drive home, with pouring rain and sun so bright the road gleamed like diamonds.
Lil' Guy did his best bouncing Scraggy imitation with my pants.

4/03 - Goldie and the clean team

With all the rain we’ve been having lately, it seems the timing for cleaning the building is a bit off, but it was still interesting to watch.

4/02 - Goldie says, "Let's eat!!"

We met my friend Rob for lunch and they did not want to wait for me to take my photo.  They were hungry!!

4/01 - Oh, no! I lost Goldie!!

I thought she was in my bag, but now I think I left her at one of my errands!  I am soooo sorry!

APRIL FOOL!!

Goldie’s fine.    She was with me all along.  :)

Poor Peggy is not fine, though.  She sprained her ankle and has to wear a boot that looks just like mine did.

3/31 - Goldie wants pets

Yes, she would like scratches behind the ears, but she also wants to take Nancy’s small Chinese dragons home as pets.  I told her dragons do not make good pets.  And Nancy is using them to guard her desk.

3/28 - Jewel makes Patrick blush *and* the twins steal the show

Turns out Patrick is easily embarrassed by photos and flirty chicks.
We went to see the twins in their school musical and they rocked it.  We were so proud of them!!

3/27 - Rainbow Dash finds a rainbow field

She tiptoed through the tulips quite happily.

3/26 - Rainbow Dash finds only rain

We didn’t go out for a walk today because it was raining.  We didn’t want Rainbow Dash’s paint to come off.

3/25 - Rainbow Dash can make friends anywhere

We met up with Wanda and Ashley from my old work.  It was great to see them!  They asked if I'd brought a friend, and I set Rainbow Dash on the bar. The people behind the counter got very excited and brought out some of *their* toy friends!  One was a small bamboo named Jason.
Ashley is always a good sport.

3/24 - Rainbow Dash joins a gang

I found 2 Pokemon cards in my coat pocket – Pansage and Drifloon! Rainbow Dash was really happy to have some friends to play with while I’m having a busy busy week.

3/21 - Transformers love tacos

An odd perk of my new job is that sometimes there is free food on the desk when you come in. Transformer took one look at today's offering and yelled, "There will be tacos tonight!!"  Yes, but please no yelling in the office.

3/20 - Phanpy goes nuts

Today has been a tornado of a day.  If anyone has seen my right shoe or what’s left of my head, please let me know.  Phanpy decided comfort food was in order, so he went after Peggy’s nuts.   (That does not sound right at all.)

3/19 - Buzz Lightyear asks Woody, "Which card do I have?"

But then Phanpy squirted some water in Woody’s eyes so he couldn’t give Buzz the answer.  Sillies!

3/18 - Phanpy goes for a swim

(Phanpy was very annoyed that I called him Flail yesterday! That is his special power, not his name!)

A coworker gave me a nice skull cup and some pretend cold coins for my desk’s pirate collection.  Phanpy thought he’d take a little dip.  Lucky for him, the cup was empty.  Pokemon cards should not get wet!

3/17 - Flail joins a pirate crew

Pirates have taken over my new desk!  (They are happy to be out of their box.)
They recruited Flail, who offered to use his trunk for backup cannon duty.
Yarrrrr!!!

3/14 - Diary of a Worm writes of cookies

They were having a bake sale at work to raise money to fight children's cancer, so Diary of a Worm and I had to go eat -- er, help out!

3/13 - Darth Maul commandeers my new desk

We went to check out my new desk, and Darth Maul tried to fly it like a spaceship!  (It would not start.)

3/12 - Darth Maul is a social climber

He saw Sheldor climbing around the crabitat, and thought he'd say hello.  Sheldor thought Darth Maul's shell was the best decorated shell ever.
Then, Darth Maul was feeling pretty as he admired the fragrant blooms of the nectarine tree.  Spring will do that to you.

3/11 - Darth Maul - now extra minty!

I suggested Darth Maul might enjoy a mint, so he dove right into a bag of them in the kitchen at work.  Ahhhh.  Refreshing!

3/10 - Darth Maul is not an attack strawberry

A coworker heard me sniffling and handed me this packet of fizzy vitamin C to take.  I put Darth Maul next to it for the picture and told him he kinda looked like a strawberry.  He did NOT like that.

3/08 - Bee Mario buzzes up a level

Exciting news from Grammie!

Thought you would like to know that Super Mario has returned from his journey through our pipes. He is pretty grubby but in fine spirits. A little soap and water and he will be good as new. He is looking forward to being reunited with Lil' Guy.

A plumber was able to retrieve him when he unclogged the drains.  Lil' Guy's  reaction?  (First, a BIG grin!)  Then:  "But Mario *is* a plumber!"

3/07 - Donkey Kong is on the edge

The competitive edge!  Don't make him jump.  He will beat you to it.  Or go bananas trying.

3/06 - RIP, FitBit

I guess this FitBit couldn't keep up with me and my busy working mom lifestyle.  It plum wore out.

Donkey Kong decided to wear it as a bandolier instead.  It kinda works!  (Now that I know the name for that thing, I want one to hold my cell phones and wireless mouse when I go to meetings.)

3/05 - Life gives Donkey Kong some lemons

DK wants to make lemonade with them, but I think hot tea for my cold sounds much better.
(Sick is ick.)

3/04 - Donkey Kong builds an empire

OK, it was actually a lot of workers, who were very busy today.
Still, it’s starting to look like an office over there…  NOT a jungle gym, Donkey Kong!

3/03 - Donkey Kong climbs the corporate ladder

Donkey Kong and I went to check out what happened to the area where I used to sit.  All the desks are gone!  DK climbed the ladder, pretending he was King of the Jungle.  (I tried not to make jokes about his monkey suit.)
We both laughed when someone came to look at a problem with my laptop and told me I’d have to wait for the “wire monkeys” to come by.  We thought DK might make new friends, but it turned out they were talking about the network guys.  At least they fixed my problem!

2/28 - Oshawott and Pidove meet a mouse and twin baby pandas

All from the excitement of our home...  First, baby panda twins arrived in the mail from Grandmother (thank you!).
Then, they tried to make friends with the mouse by my laptop, but he was working and could not play.

2/27 - Keeping Pidove off the statue

We went for a work lunch at an upscale Chinese place, and the first thing Pidove wanted to do was sit on this giant statue.  (No!)
We did like the looks of our fortune.  And given the rain we've had lately, it should happen soon!
The renovation project finally reached my team.  We will be sitting in temporary spots until the rest of the floor is remodeled, and then we'll move to our final location.  No idea where my desk will be on Monday!

2/26 - Pidove likes a deep dish

Pidove and I met my old pal Xak for dinner.  I was very careful to get the mermaid picture in the background, but didn't realize until later that the mermaid's tail was giving him (Xak, not Pidove) bunny ears.

Whoopsie!  Sorry!!  At least the pizza was fantastic and the company even better still.  :)

2/25 - Pidove is ready to fly the coop

The people on this part of my floor have moved to different desks while the renovation project is taking place.  Pidove and I went to check it out. We saw deskless desks, flocks of office chairs, and all kinds of moving things with wheels.

Pidove wanted to have hand-truck races, but I wanted to nap in the big boxes.
Instead, we went back to work.
