4/04 - Happy smiles through hunger and rain

Happy thinks fighting childhood hunger is a good thing.

We had a very dramatic drive home, with pouring rain and sun so bright the road gleamed like diamonds.

Lil' Guy did his best bouncing Scraggy imitation with my pants.

4/03 - Goldie and the clean team

With all the rain we’ve been having lately, it seems the timing for cleaning the building is a bit off, but it was still interesting to watch.

3/26 - Rainbow Dash finds only rain

We didn’t go out for a walk today because it was raining.  We didn’t want Rainbow Dash’s paint to come off.

2/27 - Keeping Pidove off the statue

We went for a work lunch at an upscale Chinese place, and the first thing Pidove wanted to do was sit on this giant statue.  (No!)

We did like the looks of our fortune.  And given the rain we've had lately, it should happen soon!

The renovation project finally reached my team.  We will be sitting in temporary spots until the rest of the floor is remodeled, and then we'll move to our final location.  No idea where my desk will be on Monday!

2/13 - Pinkie Pie gets exposed

Overexposed, even.  We tried to take a picture of her with some mushrooms that sprouted the minute we got some rain around here, but the sun was quite bright.

2/07 - Little Peep needs some sugar

We had a slog of a morning and the rainy weather was getting us down, so Little Peep treated ourselves to a bit of sweetness.  Mmmmm.  Morning buns...

Speaking of sweetness, do you see those cute little peeps behind my coffee?  :)

6/25 - Carrot Head is more fun than a barrel of monkeys

Or, at least more than the one trapped on a hoodie in the rain.

2/19 - Doggie Flashlight wants to ride the unicycle

(President's Day weekend post to come!)

Doggie Flashlight forgot his umbrella –ella -ella.  I let him share mine.

Doggie Flashlight wants to ride the unicycle, but it doesn’t seem to have a seat…  Doggie Flashlight wondered if he could balance on top of the ball and if that would be a good trick for joining the circus, which apparently has always been his dream.  Who knew?

1/03 - Rain and the Cart of Safety

Who ordered a cartload of fire extinguishers?  Hello?  Um - did you need them in a hurry?

David and I were not very good with the self portrait mode on my phone.  At least Rain’s smile looked good.  Oh – I guess the camera cut it off.  Sigh.

12/21 - Slugina and the clouds of doom

It sure was cloudy and blustery this morning.  I thought we were going to have a big loud storm, but am only finding some gentle rain here in the city.  Work, however, continues to be loud and blustery.  Gotta love that year end stuff…

At lunch, Slugina did her best Christmas tree impersonation.  Not bad, eh?

Slugina asks, "Is there something behind me?!"  No, Slugina.  There is not a delicious chocolate Beard Papa cream puff behind you.  Not at all… Just slime right over here and I’ll take care of it for you.

12/05 - Beagle sings in the rain

While I was grumbling about how people walk more slowly when carrying umbrellas, Beagle wanted to stop and sing a long song to the rain.  People looked at us, but we didn’t care.  If it’s OK to howl at the moon, why isn’t it OK to sing at the rain?

Beagles do not eat chocolate.  Or Christmas cakes that look like logs covered with lumberjack elves.  Beagles are smart like that when it comes to food.  Beware the elf with a hacksaw...

12/03 - Beagle barks at the wild mushrooms

What humongous fungus!  I guess we did get a lot of rain this weekend…

Here, Beagle sniffs the new dragon.  This dragon wants peace and harmony for the world.  I wouldn’t mind that myself. Beagle licked his knobbly dragon fingers and the dragon giggled.  

Silly dragon.  Licks are for kids.

11/30 - Beaker and the vicious umbrella

Poor Beaker!  He somehow got caught up in the umbrella when it closed up, like Snoopy and the attack lawn chairs at Thanksgiving.   (I rescued him, don’t worry.)

Then, at home, he was sequestered by sinister elves.  Not sure what they were up to, but Beaker said, "Meep!"

11/16 - Dalmatian Dog and the red rainberries

We were looking at this car and then realized it was looking back at us!  Dalmatian Dog said, "Mobile eyes."  (He's clever like that.)

These berries and the vase matched Dalmatian Dog’s nice red collar and reminded him of fire engines.

11/08 - SpoonyHead finds trouble

We came in this morning to find this on my computer.  Not good.  Not a happy computer.  Not a happy Mommy.  (It’s fine now.  Phew!)

Charlotte told SpoonyHead he could share her umbrella -ella -ella.  Nothing like a little bit of singing in the rain, I always say.

11/07 - SpoonyHead says "Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"

We saw this ad on the wall.  It was a call to be a goat.  SpoonyHead did not think much of this idea.  Neither did I.  In roller derby, if you are a goat, it means the other team has you cornered.  No, thank you!

SpoonyHead asked me why dogs can have raincoats, but talking spoons can not.  I did not have an answer for that.

10/24 - Cloud Guy says, "I am not a baseball!"

We saw a lot of clouds in the sky this morning and were happy that it was not raining. We thought this cloud’s light was very impressive and kept looking back at it.  Cloud Guy wanted to learn this trick -- I can't blame him.

People in the city have baseball on the brain this week.  Oh, yes.  There were a lot of vendors selling Giants things.  Cloud Guy and I did not get anything and went back to work, where people were wearing orange ties or whatnot, a style I call "Giants casual."

10/23 - Cloud Guy goes Gangnam Style

There’s a song with the line “clouds in my coffee.”  Cloud Guy preferred I put him *next* to the coffee, where he could nibble on my blueberry scone.

We were having a meeting in a coworker’s office and I saw he’d drawn the Gangnam Style guy on his whiteboard (work joke omitted from this photo).  Cloud Guy wanted to bust out a dance move, but he has no legs…   So he floated around instead.  Oppan Gangnam style!*

After work, we ran into Michael from my old job!  We thought it was funny to see a cloud under an umbrella.  Usually, it's the other way around.

10/22 - Cloud Guy and the BART bats

There were lots of umbrellas on BART today.  Cloud Guy thought they looked like sleeping bats.

Then we got to work and had a bunch of meetings and lunch at my desk and more meetings.  By the time it occurred to us to go get some fresh air, it was time to go.  What a Monday.

At least the rain stopped long enough for the Giants to win.  And for Cloud Guy to say hello to his peeps.

10/11/12 - Yellow Jack finds it all a blur at 8am

Between the cold medicine and the early meeting time, I had to agree.  We both wondered what was so dangerous about the umbrella in front of the bank (?) that it required caution tape.*  Curious.

We saw this big bouquet of yellow orchids in the lobby and Yellow Jack tried to blend in.

* David suggested the umbrella might be to protect passersby from falling objects.  Turns out the falling objects were -- gasp!-- weather!  We got a little bit of rain today.  Protective gear totally warranted.
