12/31 - Muckie takes a note

Lil' Gal gave me Muckie today "so he can help you type the letters on the computer," which is what she likes to do with Mama.  So here is Muckie, doing my 2010 self-review.  (Kidding!)

Happy new year!!  May 2011 have more fun and less meetings!

12/30 - Muckie is a lucky ducky

I finally broke down and used an ice scraper today on my frosty windshield.  (I had long sworn that I would not own one in CA.)  Muckie was a good helper.
My new boss took us to lunch at a fancy restaurant today.  I had beet and goat cheese ravioli and a nice salad. Also a really yummy dessert that I gobbled up before Muckie could get a photo with it.  NOM NOM NOM!!

12/29 - Go, Bitsy, Go!

Bitsy is driving her Lego convertible away from meetings as fast as she can.  Pedal to the metal, Bitsy!

12/28 - Dad and Bitsy have tall friends

Mr. "Dad" Pteranodon and I found this little dog in the train station.  She was lost, so we brought her with us to work. She says her name is Bitsy, and she can't wait to meet you guys when we get home.  (You'll have to share her, OK?)
We all had lunch with Ashley, and then we found a big nutcracker!  (He was nice.)

12/27 - Little Z thinks cleanliness smells like red velvet cupcakes

Wonderful Wanda left me some holiday goodies that included this hand sanitizer gel.  It really does smell like red cupcakes!  (I think -- my nose is still stuffed up!)
This is the alley on the way to/from the Japanese restaurant.  We're having vegetable donburi and seaweed salad for lunch.

12/24 - Cookies for Santa

Today, I made cookies and decorated them with the kids.  Lil' Gal was intent on putting every sprinkle available to her on her cookies.  Lil' Guy was intent on eating as much of the sprinkles as possible.

And then, we almost forgot to leave them out for Santa!  Whoopsie!
Happily, Lil' Gal remembered and Xmas was saved.

12/23 - Red Froggie goes last-minute shopping

No work for me today!  Yippee!  I did get to visit 2 grocery stores to get all the ingredients for our Xmas feast, however.  Here's Red Froggie at Trader Joe's.
Here we are at Safeway.

12/22 - Duplo Guy likes working in the shed

I'm working in the loft of our Mega Shed today, while cleaning ladies make our house gleam.  Once I found an extension cord for the space heater, it turned out to be a pretty good workplace.

I forgot to bring a toy up here with me, but Duplo Guy was in the giveaway pile.  I'm guessing once the twins see him, he'll be invited back into the house.
Ha!  Mama didn't show them the photo!

12/21 - Eggplant and the "Meeting Pirates"

Eggplant and I found this comic on our desk. Wouldn't meetings be much more fun with pirates in them?  YARRRRRR!!!

We saw this nice Xmas tree (and David) when we went out for lunch. David and Joanne sent you some presents!  We can open them when it's Christmas!

Mommy's work PC is not happy today.  Happily, Eggplant always is.

12/20 - Princess P. says "achoo!"

Pretty Princess P. is so polite with her blue hanky.  Today, she is wearing a fire safety lanyard as a vest.  (I'm sure she needs all the help she can get with this cold.)

Bad news:  Mama's "cold" that she's had since Thanksgiving is now officially bronchitis.  This doesn't bode well for me...

12/17 - Bubbles is a party pony

Bubbles and I headed in to work this morning with a veggie lasagna for the potluck, only to find major BART delays.  In fact, we stood on a platform for over 2 hours, unable to go into work or back home.  Finally, we got on a train with hundred of others and got to the city.
I got to work in time to have half a meeting and then head out to the team holiday party.  Here we are at a grocery store on the way, admiring chestnuts and those weird Buddha's Hands.
Here we are at Jackie's stately home, enjoying the feast.
One of Ashley's "Apples to Apples" cards said Bubbles!  Here they all are.

12/16 - Eddie and Freddie get toasty

It's chilly at the back of the house today.  We had to bust out the space heater.  Brrrr!  I think Eddie had the right idea with his stripey hat.

12/15 - First casualty of the season

Lil' Guy climbed the Xmas tree today and broke a few ornaments, including this one.   We have two of them -- they were the toppers on our (first) wedding cake, and we've used them to decorate the Xmas tree for 8 years since.  Hopefully super glue will come to the rescue.

Dana brought in some stickers for you!  Littlest Seahorse will bring them home for you.

12/14 - Screaming Screature

Too many meetings make Screature scream.  "Grrrr!"

I have 12 meetings tomorrow.  Help.

12/13 - Tiny Red Dinosaur is blown away

Tiny Red Dinosaur's biggest roar is still smaller than my little desk speakers.

Achooo!

12/10 - Littlest Rabbit is on mute

We're 22 minutes into our 4th meeting of the day and are tired of being placed into conference.

12/09 - Littlest Rabbit loves the laptop

We got our "new" laptop today, and I'm able to WFH while Mama pays the bills on other PC.  Easy come, easy go.  (Except we're both muttering!)

Here's Littlest Rabbit, surfing bunnies during a brief lull in meetings.

12/08 - Spider in the Umbrella Garden

My coworkers are drying out their umbrellas in the Pirate Annex across the way from me.  Spider thought it looked like a garden of umbrellas.
Later, I thought Spider looked like the Kraken, as he climbed aboard my pirate snow globe.  (Spider has a history of looking like a scary sea creature, you may recall.)

12/07 - Fido must be hungry

Fido tried to gnaw on the bony hand of his new pirate skeleton friend.  No, Fido, no!  Fido, shake!

Fido's most excellent doggie nose sniffed out a bake sale!  Good Fido!
I'm bringing home chocolate cake pops for Mama and the twins. (I'll have my brownie here, as a treat for surviving 7 meetings.)

12/06 - Ian finds penguins in a mini Xmas tree forest

The penguins say "Peek a boo! Happy holidays to you!"  Ian says "Oink."

This year, our office doesn't have a big Xmas tree.  Instead, they've lined the hallway to the elevators with these little trees and poinsettias.

12/03 - Littlest Seahorse is excellent with numbers

Silly Seahorse slid down a triangle block while I had 3 meetings.  Whee!! (Two of the meetings were at the same time -- 8am!)
Littlest Seahorse realized that we have an example of poor QA work on my very calendar...  Can you find the number 12?  Can you find it again?  Whoopsie!  What number should the first 12 have been?
8, 9, ??, 11, 12

We window-shopped on the way back from lunch. Which was eaten outside of the office!  With a friend!  We got to breathe fresh air!

12/02 - Apatosaurus hits the bottle

Apatosaurus and I saw such a pretty pink sky when we left the house for our early meeting, the first of 8 scheduled for today.

He wanted to get some exercise while I was trapped in meetings.  He's a good climber, all right.

12/01 - Glow-in-the-Dark Penguin gets an owie

Today, we learned that glow-in-the-dark toys may glow extra brightly if you leave them sitting on a lamp, but this is not a best practice.
Bonus:  We got to practice our first aid skills!

12/01 - Tiny Red Dinosaur is in a fog

It's the first of three days of 8am meetings (two of them with conflicting 8am meetings!  WTF?!).  In my weariness last night, I remembered to set the alarm clock for earlier, but my calculations were off.  Instead of getting up 1.5 hours earlier, I only got up 1/2 hour earlier.  That was a fun scramble, especially the part where I sped off to the BART station before the windows defrosted.  Here we are, yelling at singing to the red light to help it change to green.

Tiny Red Dinosaur ate a digger!  OK, he didn't really. We took a quick detour between meetings to see what kind of destruction/construction was going on for the new Transbay Terminal.
